Humans have bias. These biases can be difficult to overcome or recognize especially when you are down the path on an investment opportunity. We’ve seen it first hand. Sunk costs are hard to ignore and the pressure to grow is considerable. We can help. We can provide a one time outside objective review of your data or we can join with team through a full process.
We’ve deployed hundreds of millions of investment capital and our wins outweigh our losses. Most importantly, those losses have sharpened our viewpoint on the things that work.
02 — Board Membership
We believe diversified boards can bring many benefits to an organization. We also know, group decision making can be difficult and dysfunction on boards can reverberate in unintentional ways. We have the experience through many board roles including Board chair, Chair of audit, finance, compensation, governance, and investment committees. 03 — Organization Structure
High functioning teams accomplish great things. Building great teams is one of the biggest leadership challenges. We’ve worked will all types of leaders in a variety of business cycles: startup teams with limited resources on up to mature organizations with a full C-suite. We’ve built, deconstructed, and transitioned all levels of an executive team balancing salary, incentives, budget limitations, with a variety of ambitions and emotions.
04 — Strategic Planning
Your strategic plan is just as much about the process to write the plan as it is about the actual plan. We find most effective plans fit on one page - although they likely start out with much more information. Effective planning processes bring teams together, crystallize priorities, and reinforce the organization’s culture. We can help with your process.
05 — Executive coaching
A coach is someone who stands in your corner, concerned only about your success. They hold you accountable in ways that help you reach your full potential. Coaches changed our lives. They helped us access strengths we didn’t realize we had and prepared us for challenges before they came. The decision to work with an executive coach is very personal. We believe good coaches can work with the executive as a whole person, both personally and professionally.
